ECDIS complies with IMO Regulation V/19 & V/27 of SOLAS convention as amended, by displaying selected information from a System Electronic Navigational Chart (SENC). ECDIS equipment complying with SOLAS requirements can be used as an alternative to paper charts.

Procedure for Setup permit for ECDIS

• The Ship's  Officer in charge (2/OFF) creates the route and the Ship sent the list of chart to Company,

• The Company contact and by the permit from the supplier, then send the file's permit to the Ship.

• After receiving the file's permit, 2/OFF begins setup.

• First, setup the permit file

• Second, setup the base for the DVDs (notice: DVDs should be the last update)

• Finally, setup the update file (from DVD or download)
